Kalliopi Bethani
Psycologist - Psychotherapist
Specialization in the Existential–Systemic Approach and the Cognitive–Behavioral Approach (CBT)
A person’s decision to seek therapeutic support is a profound act of self-care. For me, psychotherapy is not merely a process of addressing difficulties; it is a journey of discovery, redefinition, and meaningful connection with the elements that make us human. This is the path I have chosen to serve with consistency, knowledge, and respect.
I hold a degree in Psychology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Master’s degree in Developmental Disorders from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom (M.Sc. in Developmental Disorders). My professional training has been further enriched through additional education that deepens the understanding of the individual on multiple levels:
✔ Existential–Systemic Psychotherapy for Individuals, Couples & Families at the “Antistixi” Center
✔ Cognitive–Behavioral Psychotherapy at the “Center for Applied Psychotherapy & Counseling”
✔ Play Therapy at the Metropolitan University of London
✔ Μετεκπαίδευση στην Κλινική Ψυχοπαθολογία στο Αιγινήτειο Νοσοκομείο
At the same time, I have been trained in relaxation and meditation techniques (MBSR) in London (The London Mindfulness Project), as well as in Life Coaching and career guidance.
For over ten years, I worked in schools and specialized settings in London, alongside children and adolescents with a wide range of developmental, emotional, and behavioral difficulties. This extensive experience has taught me to view challenges as starting points for growth rather than as obstacles. Today, I work as a psychotherapist with adults and adolescents, collaborate with developmental centers and mental health services in Attica, and also provide therapy in English.
My therapeutic work is addressed to individuals who are facing:
- difficulties in relationships, marriage, or following the transition to parenthood
- grief, loss & existential crises
- burnout and fatigue from daily life
- anxiety, insomnia, and stress
- challenges during adolescence
- developmental and psycho-emotional difficulties within the autism spectrum
I deeply respect the uniqueness of each individual and their personal journey. By integrating the Existential–Systemic perspective with the Cognitive–Behavioral approach, I tailor therapy to the needs of each person, strengthening their connection with themselves, their values, their relationships, and the life they wish to live. My aim is to create a space of safety, acceptance, and authenticity, where each client can express themselves freely, understand themselves more deeply, and build new possibilities.
I firmly believe that each of us holds the answers within; therapy is the process that allows these answers to emerge, through kindness, empathy, and a meaningful therapeutic relationship.
Every person deserves a life with meaning, connection, and inner peace—and it is an honor to accompany those who choose to walk this path together.
